SHOP SHOPS PLAYERSHOPS
To build a shop, first purchase a room with the 'housebuild buy' command.
Then, use Housebuild Shop <direction> to turn that room into a shop.
To build a stockroom, use Housebuild Shop <direction> from your shop
room, to build one in the direction indicated.
The two rooms for a shop are purchased individually. The main room is
purchased first and then the storeroom is built off of it.
Housebuild Shop: Once the shop is created, this command allows the editing
of the shop mob, as well as selection of pet, or goods shop. It also allows
you to set discounts on what you are selling (see help SHOP DISCOUNTS).
The storeroom can be edited with the 'housebuild decorate' command.
Other HOUSEBUILD options should work normally, such as inviting a secondary
owner, transfer the storeroom, etc. As with rooms you are an owner of, you
can use the ESCORT to remove unwanted guests in your shop.
Shop owners have access to the PRICE, COUNT, ADDSURPLUS, and SHOPDISABLE
commands. Pet store owners may DEPOSIT their pets from store front and PRICE
them from the back room of the store. Stores may hold a maximum of 50 items
or 20 pets at one time. Petshop owners can use WITHDRAW (pet) to remove a
pet without purchasing it.
Notes: once you turn a room into a shop, the only way to undo that is to
destroy the room. (currently - might change if demand warrants the effort)
Shops built before the housebuild commands were introduced will have to be
updated before they can use them. Contact an imm to update yours.
You may contact owners by a posting a world note from their shop and
addressing it to 'storekeep'.
Storekeeps will take a 5% commission on all sales.
Shops follow the same pricing and RP requirements as normal player homes,
as defined in help HOUSEBUILD and help HOUSEBUILD COSTS.
