Help for SETEXP

SETEXP

Syntax: setexp <amount> (costs 2000 qps after level 25)
Syntax: setexp (to see what your setexp is at)

This command can be used within the first 25 levels to adjust the amount of
experience it takes you to level. The amount you can set ranges from 1000
to 10,000.

Setexp can have strange effects, especially if you lower your total amount,
and then raise it again. If you increase the amount of experience it takes
you to level, you must "make up" any deficit. For example, if you are
currently a level 10 player with 1000 experience to level and you change to
3000 experience to level, you will need 20,000 experience to level.

Under no circumstances will reimbursments be made for people playing with
SETEXP. This command exists so that you can have greater control over your
character, but use it at your own risk.

Why you might change or not change xp/level:

It is easy to see that a lower xp/level setting aids in leveling quickly.
There are several long term problems with this if you wish to have a strong
well-rounded character. After level 7, practices are based on time, so the
more time it takes to level, the more practices per level you earn. You
also spend more time learning your way around and fighting (which increases
your abilities).

The number of trains you earn per level also varies with the amount of
"experience" you set per level. The number of trains is not a given as it
does vary a bit normally. At the lower settings you get 0-1 trains while at
the higher settings you get 2-3 each time you level. This makes a huge
difference in your fighting capabilities over time.

Note: Remorts are considered over level 25 for purposes of having to spend
quest points in order to use this command.
