What are Heros and Sages?

Players who achieve Hero or Sage have had a special status conferred to them by the gods allowing them to continue to advance beyond level 91. Although they remain at level 91 and do not actually 'level up', they earn Steps, that can be seen on their WHOIS next to their level. These steps act like levels in many ways and effect Heroes and Sages differently.

For heroes, the steps will increase their damage and spellcasting effectiveness, and for sages they increase crafting ablities and enchantment potential.

Heroes are automatically and always PK, where as Sages are always NPK and do not get involved in aggressive player vs player combat.

How does one become a Hero or Sage?

In order to purchase a Hero Castle, you must have:
- 10 Roleplay Points (you need a full 20 to hero)
- 5k Platinum
- 20k Quest points
(More information about castles can be found in help CASTLE.)

In order to gain Hero or Sage Status, you must have:
- 20 Roleplay Points
- A title (see help TITLE QUESTS)
- An approved Hero Castle linked and opened in-game

See: [Castle Overview] for help building a hero castle zone.

A player may complete any of these taskings in any order. They may complete
their hero zone and get it added, then work on their title quest, while
continuing to work on getting the rest of their roleplay points. The only
tasking which is mandatory for another is at least 10 roleplay points
before you can purchase and start your castle.

Hero & Sage Guidelines

  • It is possible to lose hero status by, for instance, killing a player below
level 91 or dropping below 20 roleplaying points. Heroes are expected to
behave in a manner befitting a hero while maintaining their defined
character roleplay. Heroes are also not allowed to jump from one clan to
another; however, leaving a clan because of the ethics of the character will
be considered on a case-by-case basis. Heroes are expected to write the
staff stating their desires and why it is required based upon their known
rp. Heroes are also discouraged from going OUTLAW; however, this is also
on a case-by-case basis as it is understood that Heroes, while being
required to behave in a manner befitting a hero, also have differing moral
    views and different rp.
  • Currently, heroes are not permitted to remain in NPK clans. This may change
if clan mechanics change in the future.
  • Castles should be decent zones to explore. They should not be pk traps,
hideouts to avoid timers, treasure-troves for friends, or anything
else along these lines. Anyone found exploiting castle building privileges will lose their castle zone, their ability to hero, and may result in even more drastic actions. If you are unsure if something is legal, ask!
  • Heroes should not steal from non-heroes per Arawn's news post on 7/23/10.
  • Abuse of the above could result in loss of hero or ability to obtain hero.
